Imam Khamenei reappoints 3 clerics to Iran’s Constitutional Council

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei extended the tenure of three clerics in the Constitutional Council on Saturday.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei extended the tenure of three clerics in the Constitutional Council on Saturday.

 

In separate decrees on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei reappointed Ahmad Jannati, Seyed Mohammad Reza Modarresi Yazdi and Mahdi Shabzendedar as the members of the Constitutional Council.

The term of the three clerics as the member of the council had expired after six years.

The Constitutional Council is a constitutionally mandated 12-member council in Iran that, among other things, is tasked with ensuring the compatibility of the legislation passed by the parliament with the criteria of Islam and the Constitution.
