Rallies were held in various cities across Indonesia to mark International Quds Day.<\/p>\n

One of the major rallies was held in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, in front of the US Embassy.<\/p>\n

The event was organized by Shia communities and organizations in Indonesia and both Shia and Sunni Muslims had taken part in it.<\/p>\n

International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

This year, the International Quds Day falls on Friday, April 29.<\/p>\n
