Thereupon a call was made for congregational prayer and the Holy Prophet (S) said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0623\u064a\u0647\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0627\u0633! \u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0627\u0644\u0633\u062a \u0623\u0648\u0644\u0649 \u0628\u0643\u0645 \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0646\u0641\u0633\u0643\u0645\u061f<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>O\u2019 people! Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. Am I not closer to you than your own selves?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cYes.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Prophet of Allah(S) said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647. \u0631\u0628! \u0648\u0627\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0648\u0639\u0627\u062f \u0645\u0646 \u0639\u0627\u062f\u0627\u0647.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this moment, the Prophet (S) ordered the people to pay allegiance to Hazrat Ali (\u2018a), and they obeyed and paid allegiance to him, making no objection&#8230;!<a id=\"fref_2f202bab_1\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Qurb Al-Isnad, p.27. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p.118.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_2f202bab_1\">1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Abu Nadhr Muhammad Ibn Mas&#8217;ud Ayashi Samarqandi, a great third century scholar, has also quoted this narration from Imam al-Sadiq (\u2018a) through Safwan.<a id=\"fref_156df790_2\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tafsir Al-Ayashi, vol. 1, p. 329. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p.138.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_156df790_2\">2<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"arrival-juhfah\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#arrival-juhfah\" name=\"arrival-juhfah\">Arrival At Juhfah<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Ayyashi quoted Hannan Ibn Sadir who quoted his father, Sadir, on the authority of Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir, as saying:<\/p>\n<p>When Gabriel (\u2018a) descended upon the Prophet (S) at the farewell hajj to tell him to proclaim the issue of the guardianship of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (\u2018a), this verse was revealed:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u0651\u064f\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0651\u063a\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064f\u0646\u0632\u0650\u0644\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0631\u0651\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651\u0643\u064e..<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>O\u2019 Apostle, Proclaim the Message which has been sent to you from your Lord\u2026<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(<em><strong>Sura Al-Ma&#8217;idah,\u00a0<a id=\"quran_ref_163949\" class=\"regexed quran_ref approved\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#quran_ref_163949\" data-id=\"163949\">5:67<\/a>).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Prophet (S) waited for three days until he arrived at Juhfa. Until then, he did not raise Ali\u2019s hand, fearing people. However when he arrived on Ghadir Day at Mahi\u2019ah, a place at Juhfa, he called for congregational prayer. After people gathered there he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0648\u0644\u0649 \u0628\u0643\u0645 \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0646\u0641\u0633\u0643\u0645\u061f<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Who are closer to you than your own selves?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The people replied loudly: Allah and His Prophet. The Prophet (S) repeated the question.<\/p>\n<p>The people replied: Allah and His Prophet.<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet (S) repeated the question for the third time. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends\u00a0<\/em><em>him and make enmity towards anyone who makes<\/em>\u00a0<em>enmity towards him, and help anyone who helps him and leave alone anyone who leaves him alone. Since he is surely from me, and I am from him. And he is to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there will be no Prophet after me.<\/em><a id=\"fref_47a94f4e_3\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tafsir Al-Ayyashi, vol 1, p.332. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p. 140.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_47a94f4e_3\">3<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"how-surprising-alis-misfortunes-are\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#how-surprising-alis-misfortunes-are\" name=\"how-surprising-alis-misfortunes-are\">How Surprising Ali\u2019s Misfortunes Are!<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Ayashi elsewhere quotes Umar Ibn Yazid on the authority of Imam al-Sadiq (\u2018a) as saying:<\/p>\n<p>O Abu Hafs, how surprising Ali\u2019s misfortunes are! He had ten thousand witnesses, but he could not get his right, whereas two witnesses are enough to take your right!<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet of Allah(S) left Medina for Mecca to perform hajj. Five thousand people accompanied him. He returned from Mecca while he was accompanied by five thousand people from Mecca.<\/p>\n<p>When the Prophet(S) arrived at Juhfa, Gabriel descended to tell him to proclaim the guardianship of Ali (\u2018a). The verse on the guardianship of Ali (\u2018a) was also revealed at Mina, but knowing that the people would react negatively, the Prophet of Allah(S), did not proclaim it. At this moment Gabriel said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u0651\u064f\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0651\u063a\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064f\u0646\u0632\u0650\u0644\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0631\u0651\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651\u0643\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u0652 \u062a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u0641\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u063a\u0652\u062a\u064e \u0631\u0650\u0633\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0640\u0647\u064f \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0635\u0650\u0645\u064f\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>O\u2019 Prophet, Proclaim the Message which has been sent to you from your Lord! And if you do not do that, then you would not have fulfilled and proclaimed His Mission. (Know that) God will protect you from (the mischievous) men. (Sura Al-Ma&#8217;idah,\u00a0<a id=\"quran_ref_163949\" class=\"regexed quran_ref approved\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#quran_ref_163949\" data-id=\"163949\">5:67<\/a>).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>That is to say He will protect you from what you were afraid at Mina. That is the reason why the Prophet of Allah(S) ordered people to stop (at Juhfa), and they prepared the ground for sitting there as they were told&#8230;<a id=\"fref_52287611_4\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tafsir Al-Ayashi, vol. 1, p. 322. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p.140.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_52287611_4\">4<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ayashi relates a third narration on Ghadir. He quotes Ziyad Ibn Munzir as saying:<br \/>\n\u201cI was in the presence of Imam Al-Baqir (\u2018a). As he was narrating traditions for people, a person from Basra named Uthman A\u2019sha \u2013who was quoting narrations from Hasan Basri\u2013 came in the presence of Imam saying: \u201cO\u2019 son of Prophet of Allah, May I be your ransom! Hasan Basri quotes a narration to us according to which this verse<a id=\"fref_a23a5dc9_5\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" verse 67.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_a23a5dc9_5\">5<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u064a\u0651\u064f\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0651\u063a\u0652 \u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0623\u064f\u0646\u0632\u0650\u0644\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0631\u0651\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651\u0643\u064e\u00a0\u0648\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u0652 \u062a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u0641\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u063a\u0652\u062a\u064e \u0631\u0650\u0633\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0640\u0647\u064f \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0635\u0650\u0645\u064f\u0643\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0650<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>is revealed concerning one of the companions (of the Prophet), but he has not mentioned the name of that companion. (That is to say: are you afraid of people? Do not be worried; God will protect you against their evils.)<\/p>\n<p>Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (\u2018a) said: \u201cWhat has happened to Hasan Basri? May Allah not pay his debt! (May Allah not accept his prayer!). Be aware, if he wanted, he would have mentioned the name of that companion.\u201d<br \/>\nGabriel descended upon Prophet of Allah (S) and said;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0625\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u062a\u0628\u0627\u0631\u0643 \u0648\u062a\u0639\u0627\u0644\u0649 \u064a\u0623\u0645\u0631\u0643 \u0623\u0646 \u062a\u062f\u0644 \u0623\u0645\u062a\u0643 \u0645\u0646 \u0648\u0644\u064a\u0647\u0645\u060c \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0645\u0642\u0644 \u0645\u0627 \u062f\u0644\u0644\u062a\u0647\u0645 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0641\u064a \u0635\u0644\u0627\u062a\u0647\u0645 \u0648 \u0632\u0643\u0627\u062a\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0635\u064a\u0627\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0648 \u062d\u062c\u0647\u0645<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAllah, the Exalted orders you to show the people, their guardian just as you showed them their prayers, zakat, fasting and hajj.<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet of Allah replied: \u201cMy Lord! And if you do not do that, then you would not have fulfilled and proclaimed His Mission. (Know that) God will protect you from (the mischievous) men. (Sura Al-Ma&#8217;idah,\u00a0<a id=\"quran_ref_163949\" class=\"regexed quran_ref approved\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#quran_ref_163949\" data-id=\"163949\">5: 67<\/a>).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Prophet of Allah(S) stood up, took Ali\u2019s hand and raised it saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master<\/em>\u2026<a id=\"fref_60c9f173_6\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tafsir Al-Ayashi, vol. 1, p.333. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p.141.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_60c9f173_6\">6<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"helper-ali\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#helper-ali\" name=\"helper-ali\">Helper Of Ali (\u2018A)<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>In regards to helping Imam Ali (\u2018a), there are many narrations.<br \/>\nSheikh Abu Umar and Muhammad Ibn Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz al-Kashi, a great fourth century Shiite scholar, quotes Gabriel Ibn Ahmad from Musa Ibn Muawiyah Ibn Wahab from Ali Ibn Saeed from Abdullah Ibn Abdullah Waseti from Wasel Ibn Sulaiman from Abdullah Ibn Sunan on the authority of Imam al-Sadiq (\u2018a) as saying:<\/p>\n<p>When Zaid Ibn Suhan fell on the ground in the battle of Jamal, Ali, the commander of the faithful attended to him, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0631\u062d\u0645\u0643 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u064a\u0627 \u0632\u064a\u062f! \u0644\u0642\u062f \u0643\u0646\u062a \u062e\u0641\u064a\u0641 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0648\u0646\u0629 \u0639\u0638\u064a\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0639\u0648\u0646\u0629<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>O, Zaid, May Allah have mercy upon you, your expenses were meagre but your assistance was great.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Zaid raised his head and said: \u201cO\u2019 Amir Al-Mu\u2019minin! May Allah give you a good reward. By God, I have found you as the only knower of Allah and as highly knowledgeable in Quran. Indeed Allah has an eminent place in your heart. By God, I did not fight alongside you out of ignorance, I fought alongside you for I heard Umm Salamah, the Prophet\u2019s wife, saying: I heard Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0627\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0648\u0639\u0627\u062f \u0645\u0646 \u0639\u0627\u062f\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0648\u0627\u0646\u0635\u0631 \u0645\u0646 \u0646\u0635\u0631\u0647 \u0648\u0623\u062e\u0630\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u062e\u0630\u0644\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, this Ali is his master. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him, and help anyone who helps him and leave alone anyone who leaves him alone.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By Allah, it was because of this that I did not like to leave you alone; for if I left you alone, Allah would leave me alone.<a id=\"fref_c4045f2c_7\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Rejal Al-Keshi, p. 63.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_c4045f2c_7\">7<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"ghadir-and-some-prophets-sayings\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#ghadir-and-some-prophets-sayings\" name=\"ghadir-and-some-prophets-sayings\">Ghadir And Some Of Prophet\u2019s Sayings<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Sheikh Abu Ja\u2019far Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn Babwayh known as Saduq (d.381 AH) uses different chain of transmitters while quoting the Narration of Ghadir. He reports from Ibn Walid from Saffar from Ibn Abi Al-Khattab and Ibn Yazid, who quote Ibn Abi Omair as saying:<\/p>\n<p>He also quotes from his father from Ali from his father from Ibn Abi Umair;<\/p>\n<p>Likewise he quotes from Ibn Masrur from Ibn Amer from his uncle from Ibn Abi Umair;<\/p>\n<p>He also quotes from Ibn Mutawakkel from Sa\u2019d Abadi from Barqi from his father from Ibn Abi Umair;<\/p>\n<p>Abdullah Ibn Sunan quotes from Ma\u2019ruf Ibn Kharabudh from Abu Tufail Amer Ibn Wathelah from Hadhifat Ibn Asid Ghaffari as saying:<\/p>\n<p>When Prophet of Allah(S) returned from Mecca after performing farewell hajj \u2013we were in his company\u2013 he went on till he reached Juhfah, a place where he ordered people to stop. They stopped there and the call for prayer was made. My Lord, be a witness to what these people say! Behold, I take you as witnesses I attest that Allah is my master; I am the master of all Muslims, and I am closer to believers than their own selves. And how did you deal with the two precious things after me? Therefore pay heed to the manner in which you treat these two precious things when you shall meet me\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cO! Allah\u2019s Apostle! One side of this rope is in Allah\u2019s hand and the other side is in your hands and the knowledge of the past and future to the day of judgment is contained in it. The smaller precious thing which is counted as the alliance of the Quran is Ali Ibn Abi Talib and his kinfolk, and these two will never separate until they come to me in the Howd.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ma\u2019ruf Ibn Kharabudh says: I related this narration to Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (\u2018a). He said: Abu Tufail has spoken the truth. We have seen this narration in Hazrat Ali\u2019s book and we are acquainted with it<a id=\"fref_abc5ce86_8\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Al-Khesal, vol. 1pp. 34 - 35.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_abc5ce86_8\">8<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"leader-and-master-people\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#leader-and-master-people\" name=\"leader-and-master-people\">Leader And Master Of People<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Sheikh Hurre Ameli in his Ithbat Al-Hadat writes: Jabir Ibn Hazem relates a narration concerning a lady named \u201cKhulah Hanafi\u201d whom Amir Al-Mu\u2019minin Ali (\u2018a) had picked up from among the captives of Bani Hanifah.<\/p>\n<p>When Khulah met Imam Ali (\u2018a), she asked: \u201cWho are you?\u201d<br \/>\nImam Ali (\u2018a), said: \u201cI am Ali Ibn Abi Talib.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cYou are perhaps the one whom the Apostle of Allah chose at Ghadir Khum, on a Friday morning as leader and master of people?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Imam Ali (\u2018a), said: \u201cYes, I am that very person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Khulah said: \u201cWe were enraged because of you and on account of this enragement we were attacked. Our men said that they would not pay taxes (zakat) to anyone nor would they surrender to any person except to the one chosen by the Prophet of Allah as their leader and master\u201d<a id=\"fref_253a3d49_9\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat al-Hudat, vol. 2, p. 42.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_253a3d49_9\">9<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"ali-s-similar-aaron\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#ali-s-similar-aaron\" name=\"ali-s-similar-aaron\">Ali (A. S) Similar To Aaron<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Sheikh Hurre Ameli quotes another narration in this regard. He quotes Ana as saying: One day the Prophet of Allah mounted the pulpit. He says:<br \/>\nMufid quotes from Ali Ibn Ahmad Qalansi from Abdullah Ibn Muhammad from Abdul Rahman Ibn Salih from Musa Ibn Imran from Abu Ishac Sabiee from Zaid Ibn Arqam who said: I heard on Ghadir Khum Day Allah\u2019s Apostle saying:<\/p>\n<p>It is not permissible for me and my progeny to receive charity (sadaqa). May Allah curse anyone who relates himself to a person other than his own father. May Allah curse anyone who accepts the guardianship of anyone other than those charged with authority. The child belongs to the bed owner, an adulterer must be stoned to death, and the inheritors cannot inherit more than what has been stipulated for them. Be aware that you have heard my speech, and you have seen me. Thus do not embarrass me. Know that I shall save a lot of people from the hellfire and some people shall find salvation through me. Allah is my Master and the Master of all the pious men and women. Be informed that of whomsoever I am a master, this Ali is his master.<\/em><a id=\"fref_e5cd8f4d_11\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Sheikh Tusi, Al-Amali, p. 227. Bihar Al-Anwar has also quoted this narration from the same source in vol. 37, p.123. \" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_e5cd8f4d_11\">11<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"important-points\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#important-points\" name=\"important-points\">Important Points<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Now we will mention a few points concerning these narrations.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"one\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#one\" name=\"one\">One<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The number of people from Mecca and Medina who were present on the day of Ghadir and heard the speech of Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) was ten thousand. Now if we add up the people of other parts of Hijaz (Saudi Arabia) such as Yemen etc. to them, we will have a great number of people.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"two\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#two\" name=\"two\">Two<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Based on these narrations Prophet of Allah(S) ordered people to pay allegiance to Amir Al-Mu\u2019minin, Ali (\u2018a), and all the people did so.<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of some narrations, the Holy Prophet (S) told people:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0633\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0628\u0625\u0645\u0631\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0646<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Greet Ali as the commander of the faithful.<a id=\"fref_1409587c_12\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Al-Kafi, vol. 1, p.292, Narration 1.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_1409587c_12\">12<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although some Sunni historians have ignored this issue, others have paid attention to it.<a id=\"fref_beb3aa78_13\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" chapter three, vol. 1, p.144.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_beb3aa78_13\">13<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"three\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#three\" name=\"three\">Three<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Based on some narrations, Hasan Basri was avoiding to name the person about whom the verse of \u2018Wilayat\u2019(guardianship) was revealed. It has to be said that prior to him there were people who were also likely to avoid mentioning his name because of jealousy or dissimulation and there were also others who were sympathizing with them.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"four\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#four\" name=\"four\">Four<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>According to narration of Ghadir, the Prophet of Allah(S) alluding to the issue of pond, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0641\u0644\u0627 \u062a\u0633\u0648\u0651\u062f\u0648 \u0648\u062c\u0647\u064a<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Therefore do not embarrass me. Bukhari, Muslim and other compilers of narration sources have quoted Prophet of Allah as saying that they were the ones who committed heresy and got back to pre-Islamic era.<a id=\"fref_b3e41669_14\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Sahih Bukhari, vol 4, p. 87, chapter Fi Al-Howd.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_b3e41669_14\">14<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is worth saying that the relation between Ghadir and the Howd is not something hidden to intelligent readers.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"five\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#five\" name=\"five\">Five<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>If you compare the narration of Ghadir with the narration of \u2018Thaqalain\u2019 \u2013 which has been mentioned in Sahih of Muslim and other books\u2013 and the narration of \u2018Manzilat\u2019 \u2013which has been mentioned in Sahihs of Bukhari and Muslim and other books\u2013 it becomes clear that the narration of Ghadir is a strong narration as far as its chain of transmission and its text are concerned.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"invoking-narration-ghadir-and-swearing-it\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#invoking-narration-ghadir-and-swearing-it\" name=\"invoking-narration-ghadir-and-swearing-it\">Invoking The Narration Of Ghadir And Swearing By It<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Some narrations have touched the issue of invoking the narration of Ghadir and swearing by it. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They replied: \u201cNo!\u201d<a id=\"fref_9e4d96a6_15\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Sheikh Tusi, Al-Amali, p. 555, Ithbat Al-Huda, vol. 2, p.86.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_9e4d96a6_15\">15<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Saduq has also quoted the above-mentioned narration and the narration how Imam Ali (\u2018a) cursed some people \u2013namely Anas Ibn Malik, Bara\u2019a Ibn Azib Ansari, Ash\u2019as Ibn Qais Kindi and Khalid Ibn Yazid Bajalli- for concealing it.\u00a0<a id=\"fref_6a011cb9_16\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat Al-Hadat, vol. 2, p.420 as quoted by Sheikh Tusi\u201fs Al-Amali.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_6a011cb9_16\">16<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his book\u00a0<em><strong>Al-Gharat<\/strong><\/em>, Sheikh Hurr Ameli (d. 1104 AH) has quoted from Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Ibn Saeed Thaqafi a narration that tells how a youngster earnestly asks Abu-<br \/>\nHuraira to relate the story of Ghadir:<\/p>\n<p>After the arrival of Muawiyah in Kufah, Abu Huraira went to the mosque and began narrating traditions. Meanwhile, a youngster from the Ansar (the helpers) approached him and said; O! Abu Huraira, i have a question concerning one narration, and I ask you to tell me for the sake of Allah whether you heard the Holy Prophet (S) say regarding Ali (\u2018a):<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0627\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0648\u0639\u0627\u062f \u0645\u0646 \u0639\u0627\u062f\u0627\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Abu Huraira replied: Yes, I swear by Allah who is the sole object of worship that I heard the Prophet say:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0627\u0644 \u0645\u0646 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0648\u0639\u0627\u062f \u0645\u0646 \u0639\u0627\u062f\u0627\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. My Lord! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this moment the youngster said: I swear by Allah, that you have befriended Ali\u2019s enemies and become an enemy of his friends. It was then that Abu Huraira went out of the mosque and did not return to it until he left Kufah.<a id=\"fref_d7feecc7_17\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat Al-Hadat, vol. 2, p. 178.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_d7feecc7_17\">17<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Sheikh Hurr Ameli quotes another narration from Ahmad Ibn Ali Tabarsi from Muhammad and Yahya \u2013sons of Abdullah Ibn Hasan\u2013 from their father on the authority of Imam Ali (\u2018a) as saying:<\/p>\n<p>When Abu Bakr was delivering a speech, Ubi Ibn Ka\u2019b told him: \u201cDon\u2019t you know that the Prophet of Allah (S) delivered a speech to us somewhere and designated Ali as caliph and said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master\u2026.<\/em><a id=\"fref_c041b7b2_18\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p. 116.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_c041b7b2_18\">18<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is worth saying that most of the famous Sunni narrators have quoted the narrations of swearing by and invoking the Ghadir narration. For example some of the Sunnit narrators like Khatib Kharazmi in his Al-Manaqeb, Hamyuni in his Faraed Al-Samtain and even Hafez Ibn Abd Al-Barr in his Al-Istiab have narrated how Imam Ali asked the people of council to narrate Ghadir Khum.<a id=\"fref_4c23da26_19\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" (printed as footnotes of Al Esabah), vol. 3, p. 35.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_4c23da26_19\">19<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Likewise you can also find the narration of giving swear (qasam) to and cursing those who concealed it in Ahmad\u2019s Musnad, Asad Al-Ghaba Fi Ma\u2019refat Al-Sahabah, Majma Al-Zawaed etc.<a id=\"fref_598a0ed0_20\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Musnad e Ahmad, vol. 1, p.119, Asad Al Ghabah, vol. 3, p. 321, Majma Al Zawaed, vol. 9, p. 106.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_598a0ed0_20\">20<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the story of the youngster from among Ansaris who earnestly asked Abu Huraira to bear witness has been quoted by Abu Bakr Heithami in his Majma Al-Zawaed. Ibn Kathir has also related it in his Tarikh from several narrators.<a id=\"fref_22452300_21\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Majma Al Zawaed, vol. 9, p. 105 and Tarikh Bin Kathir, vol. 5, p. 213.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_22452300_21\">21<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"dialogue-between-sad-and-muawiyah\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#dialogue-between-sad-and-muawiyah\" name=\"dialogue-between-sad-and-muawiyah\">Dialogue Between Sa\u2019d And Muawiyah<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Abu Ja\u2019far Muhammad Ibn Hasan Tusi known as Shiite Sheikh al-Taifah reported a dialogue between Sa\u2019d and Muawiyah from some narrators from Abu Al-Mufaddal from Muhammad Ibn Aaron from Muhammad Ibn Hameed from Jareer from Ash&#8217;as Ibn Ishaq from Ja&#8217;far Ibn Abu Moqaireh from Saeed Ibn Jobair from Ibn Abbas who said:<\/p>\n<p>In a long dialogue with Muawiyah, Sa\u2019d Ibn Abi Waqqas said: I heard that a man went to the Prophet of Allah (S) and complained against Ali (\u2018a), but the Prophet (S) told him:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0627\u0644\u0627 \u062a\u0639\u0644\u0645 \u0623\u0646\u064a \u0623\u0648\u0644\u0649 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0646 \u0645\u0646 \u0623\u0646\u0641\u0633\u0647\u0645\u061f<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Don\u2019t you know that I am closer to believers than their own selves?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He said: Yes, I know. Imam said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0647\u0630\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647\u060c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sa\u2019d Ibn Abi Waqqas said: In one of his journeys, the Holy Prophet (S) did not take Ali (\u2018a) along with himself, leaving him Medina to be his deputy. Ali (\u2018a) said: O! Allah\u2019s Apostle! Do you appoint me as your deputy in order to manage things related to women and children?<\/p>\n<p>Allah\u2019s Apostle (\u2018a) said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0623\u0645\u0627 \u062a\u0631\u0636\u0649 \u0623\u0646 \u062a\u0643\u0648\u0646 \u0645\u0646\u0651\u064a \u0628\u0645\u0646\u0632\u0644\u0629 \u0647\u0627\u0631\u0648\u0646 \u0628\u0646 \u0645\u0648\u0633\u0649 \u0625\u0644\u0627 \u0623\u0646\u0647 \u0644\u0627 \u0646\u0628\u064a \u0628\u0639\u062f\u064a\u061f<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Are you not satisfied to be to me as Aaron was to Moses except that there would be no Prophet after me?<\/em>\u00a0<a id=\"fref_8e194746_22\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat Al-Huda, vol. 2, p. 89.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_8e194746_22\">22<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It means that you are my deputy in all affairs not only in matters related to women and children.<\/p>\n<p>This dialogue was made at a time when Muawiyah ordered Sa\u2019d Ibn Abi Waqqas to curse Amir Al-Muminin Ali (\u2018a). This dialogue has been quoted by Sunni sources. Muslim Naishaburi and other Sunnite scholars have also quoted it. The dialogue includes the following:<\/p>\n<p>Sa\u2019d Said: I shall not curse Ali (\u2018a), as long as I remember three things which Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) said about him. If only one of those three things were said about me, I would have loved it more than all other blessings&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The Sunni scholars have, however, distorted this narration, to the extent that some of them have omitted the narration of Ghadir from it, whereas others have omitted the word \u2018curse\u2019 or the name of the one who cursed.<a id=\"fref_9597b2a3_23\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" For further information see Bin Kathir, Tarikh, vol. 7, p.340, Nesaee, Al Khasaes, p. 49 and Al Istiab, vol. 3, p. 1099.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_9597b2a3_23\">23<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wish Muawia would follow some of his followers and stop cursing and prevent others from cursing after hearing the dialogue and the Prophet\u2019s words.<\/p>\n<p>Based on his own chain of transmitters, Sheikh Tusi quotes Sahm Ibn Haseen Asadi as saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbdullah Ibn Alaqamah and I went to Mecca. Abdullah Ibn Alaqamah was always cursing Ali (\u2018a). If you are willing, I told him, let us visit Abu Saeed Khidri and renew our covenant with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He replied: \u201cLet us go\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>After meeting Abu Saeed Khidri, Abdullah Ibn Alaqamah said:<br \/>\n\u201cHave you heard anything positive about Ali?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cYes, I will narrate it to you, and to make sure you can ask about this from Muhjireen Ansar and also the Quraish. On the day of Ghadir, Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) delivered a speech and said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u064a\u0627 \u0623\u064a\u0647\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0627\u0633! \u0623\u0644\u0633\u062a \u0623\u0648\u0644\u0649 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u0648\u0646 \u0645\u0646 \u0623\u0646\u0641\u0633\u0647\u0645\u061f<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cO You people! Am I not closer to you than your own selves?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cYes, you do.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Prophet (S) repeated his words three times and then said:<br \/>\n\u201cO Ali! Come closer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) raised Ali\u2019s hand (\u2018a) to the extent that I saw the whiteness of their armpits. The Prophet (S) thrice said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cOf whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abdullah Ibn Alaqamah said: \u201cDid you hear this conversation from Allah\u2019s Apostle (S), yourself?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pointing to his ears and chest, Abu Saeed said:\u201d Yes, my ears heard it and my heart perceived it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abdullah Ibn Shareek says: \u201cAbdullah Ibn Alaqamah and Sahm Ibn Haseen came to my house. After offering noon prayer, Abdullah Ibn Alaqamah stood up and thrice said:<br \/>\n\u201cI am repenting and seeking forgiveness from Allah for cursing Ali Ibn Abi Talib (\u2018a).\u201d<a id=\"fref_6a80f83b_24\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" vol. 37, p.142.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_6a80f83b_24\">24<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"objection-and-opposition-ghadir-day\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#objection-and-opposition-ghadir-day\" name=\"objection-and-opposition-ghadir-day\">Objection And Opposition On Ghadir Day<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>As to this subject matter, Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Mas\u2019ud Ayashi quotes Ja\u2019far Ibn Muhammad Khazaee who quotes his father on what was said by: Imam Ja\u2019far Sadiq (\u2018a):<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the day of Ghadir, when the Prophet had finished his speech, Miqdad passed by a group of people who were saying that the Prophet wanted to give the guardianship to Ali after him. And saying; by Allah, we will react against this!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miqdad informed Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) of what was going on. Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) summoned them they swore that they did not say it.<a id=\"fref_e371097d_25\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat Al-Hadat, vol. 2, p. 137.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_e371097d_25\">25<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The late Ayyashi quotes another narration in this way: Aban Ibn Taghleb says: Imam Ja\u2019far Sadiq (\u2018a) said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the day of Ghadir, when Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) designated Ali (\u2018a) as his successor and said: &#8220;Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master&#8221;, two persons from the Quraish said: By Allah, we will never accept his words. When Prophet of Allah(S) was informed of their opinion, he asked them to tell what they said, but they lied and swore that they said nothing\u201d.<a id=\"fref_12d91f63_26\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p. 137.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_12d91f63_26\">26<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sayyid Sharaf Al-Din Ali Najafi, a tenth century Shiite scholar reports another narration from Muhammad Ibn Abbas from Ali Ibn Abbas from Hasan Ibn Muhammad from Yusuf Ibn Kalib from Khaled from Hafs Ibn Omar from Hanan from Abu Ayyub Ansari who said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the Prophet of Allah(S) took Ali\u2019s hand (\u2018a), raised it up and said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cOf whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master,\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Somebody said that the Prophet (S) was captivated by his cousin.<a id=\"fref_12d91f63_27\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p. 137.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_12d91f63_27\">27<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Certainly there were also other people who had the same idea as Fahri did. If these people displayed their opposition to Allah\u2019s Apostle (S), they would experience the same problem experienced by Fahri. Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this moment a person sitting in middle of the crowd in the mosque said:<br \/>\n\u201cO Allah\u2019s Apostle (S)! Befriend anyone who befriends him and make enmity towards anyone who makes enmity towards him.\u201d<\/em><a id=\"fref_ce0d269c_28\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p.170.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_ce0d269c_28\">28<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Emad Al-Din Muhammad Ibn Abu Al-Qasim Tabari, author of Bisharat Al-Mustafa, quotes another narration. Based on his chain of transmitters, he quotes Ibrahim Ibn Raja as saying.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing Imam Ja\u2019far Sadiq (\u2018a) somebody said: Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) told Ali (\u2018a) on the day of Ghadir:\u00a0<em>\u201cOf whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master. My Lord! He answered:<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u201cAllah is my master and closer to me than my own self, such that with His orders no option remains for me. I am the master of the believers and am closer to them than their own selves, such that with my order, no option remains for them. Of whomsoever I am a master and am closer to him than his own self; Ali Ibn Abi Talib is his master and is closer to him than his own self, such that with his order no option remains for him.\u201d<\/em><a id=\"fref_9ef5891b_29\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Bisharat Al-Mustafa, p. 92.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_9ef5891b_29\">29<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Saduq quotes from Muhammad Ibn Omar Hafez Ja\u2019abi from Musa Ibn Muhammad Thaqafi from Hasan Ibn Muhammad from Safwan Ibn Yahiya from Ya\u2019qub Ibn Shuaib from Aban Ibn Taghleb who said:<\/p>\n<p>I asked Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (\u2018a) about the meaning of the Prophet\u2019s words: &#8220;Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u064a\u0627 \u0627\u0628\u0627 \u0633\u0639\u064a\u062f! \u062a\u0633\u0623\u0644 \u0639\u0646 \u0645\u062b\u0644 \u0647\u0630\u0627\u061f\u0651 \u0627\u0639\u0644\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0623\u0646\u0651\u0647 \u064a\u0642\u0648\u0645 \u0641\u064a\u0647\u0645 \u0645\u0642\u0627\u0645\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>O\u2019 Aba Saeed! Are you asking about such a (an obvious) thing?! The Prophet (S) proclaimed publicly that Ali is his successor<\/em>.<a id=\"fref_79ef0d56_30\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Maani Al-Akhbar, p. 66.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_79ef0d56_30\">30<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Sheikh Saduq quotes another narration in this manner: Muhammad Ibn Omar Hafez Ja\u2019abi quotes from Ja\u2019far Ibn Muhammad Husaini from Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn Khalaf from Sahl Ibn Amro from Zafer Ibn Suleiman from Shareek from Abu Ishaq who said: I asked Imam Al-Sajjad about the meaning of the Prophe\u2019s saying &#8220;of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0623\u062e\u0628\u0631\u0647 \u0623\u0646\u0651\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0627\u0645\u0627\u0645 \u0628\u0639\u062f\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>He informed them that after him Ali is his Imam.<\/em><a id=\"fref_86d6dd72_31\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p. 65\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_86d6dd72_31\">31<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his Kashf al-Ghumma, Sheikh Ali Ibn Isa Arbali (d.693 AH) quotes<\/p>\n<p>al-Dalael by Abdullah Ibn Ja\u2019far Hamyari as saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHasan Ibn Zarif told me that he had written a letter to Imam Al-Sajjad (\u2018a) asking him about the meaning of the saying of the Holy Prophet concerning Imam Ali (\u2018a), (Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master), Imam Al-Sajjad (\u2018a) replied:\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0623\u0631\u0627\u062f \u0628\u0630\u0644\u0643 \u0623\u0646 \u064a\u062c\u0639\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u0645\u0627\u064b \u064a\u0639\u0631\u0641 \u0628\u0647 \u062d\u0632\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0641\u0631\u0642\u0629<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>By doing so, Prophet of Allah (S) intended to install him as an indicator, so that the party of\u00a0<\/em><em>Allah gets known through him in time of turbulence.<\/em><a id=\"fref_f860cb69_32\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Kashf Al-Ghummah, vol. 1, p. 147.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_f860cb69_32\">32<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"abu-hanifahs-confession-about-signification-ghadir-narration\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#abu-hanifahs-confession-about-signification-ghadir-narration\" name=\"abu-hanifahs-confession-about-signification-ghadir-narration\">Abu Hanifah\u2019s Confession About The Signification Of Ghadir Narration<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Nu&#8217;man Baghdadi known as Mufid (d. 413 AH) quotes from Muhammad Ibn Omar Ja&#8217;abi from Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Saeed who quotes Ali Ibn Husain as saying: I found in my father&#8217;s book that Muhammad Ibn Muslim Ashjaee had quoted Muhammad Ibn Nofel Ibn Aidh Sairafi as saying:<\/p>\n<p>One day Abu Hanifah visited me. We talked about Amir Al-Mu&#8217;minin Ali (\u2018a).<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hanifah said: \u201cI have told my co-religionists not to confess to Ghadir Narration while talking to Shiites for in the case of confession their logic will dominate them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At this moment Heitham Ibn Habib Sirafi&#8217;s got angry and told Abu Hanifah: \u201cWhy don\u2019t you confess to Ghadir narration? O Nu&#8217;man! Don\u2019t you know about the Ghadir narration?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hanifah said: \u201cI know about it, and I have actually quoted it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heitham said: \u201cThen, why don\u2019t you confess to it? Habib Ibn Abi Thabit quotes Abu Tufail who quotes Zaid Ibn Arqam as having said that Ali (\u2018a) got the approval of those who were present on Ghadir day about the authenticity of Ghadir narration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hanifah said: \u201cDon\u2019t you see that people have differed on this issue to the extent that Ali was forced to get their approval at Rahbah?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heitham said: \u201cSo we refute Ali (\u2018a) and reject his saying!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hanifah said: \u201cWe do not refute Ali nor do we reject his words; but as you see some people exaggerate about Ali.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heitham said: \u201cThe Holy Prophet designated Ali as his successor devoting a whole sermon to it, but we are afraid of narrating it&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"fasting-ghadir-day\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#fasting-ghadir-day\" name=\"fasting-ghadir-day\">Fasting On Ghadir Day<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Ghadir Day is a day of fasting, prayer, supplication and worship. There are many narrations about this.<\/p>\n<p>For example, based on his own chain of reporters, Sheikh Tusi quotes Husain Ibn Hasan Husaini from Muhammad Ibn Musa Hamdani from Ali Ibn Hasan Wasiti from Ali Ibn Husain Abdi on the authority of Imam Ja\u2019far Sadiq (\u2018a) as saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0635\u064a\u0627\u0645 \u064a\u0648\u0645 \u063a\u062f\u064a\u0631 \u062e\u0645 \u064a\u0639\u062f\u0644 \u0635\u064a\u0627\u0645 [\u0639\u0645\u0631] \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0646\u064a\u0627<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Fasting on Ghadir Day equals fasting [the age] of this world&#8230;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Then Imam (\u2018a) described Ghadir Day prayer and the reward for it&#8230;. saying: After performing a two unit prayer, recite this supplication and say\u2026..<a id=\"fref_f71eef7f_33\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tahzib Al-Ahkam, vol. 4, p. 305.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_f71eef7f_33\">33<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ibn Babwaih Sheikh Saduq quotes Hasan Muhammad Ibn Hasan Sakuni from Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Ibn Yahiya Naishaburi from Abu Ja\u2019ar Ibn Sari and Abu Nasr Ibn Musa Khalal from Ali Ibn Saeed from Dhumarat Ibn Shuzab from Matar from Shahr Ibn Hushab who Abu Hurairah as saying:<\/p>\n<p>Whoever fasts on the Dhul Hijjah, the eighteenth, Allah gives him the reward of fasting for sixty months. Eighteenth of Dhul Hijjah is the day of Ghadir Khum; the day on which Allah\u2019s Apostle (S) took Ali Ibn Abi Talib\u2019s hand (\u2018a) and said:<br \/>\n\u201cAm I not closer to you than your own selves?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cYes, you are. O\u2019 Allah\u2019s Apostle! The Prophet (S) said:\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0645\u0646 \u0643\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647 \u0641\u0639\u0644\u064a \u0645\u0648\u0644\u0627\u0647<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Of whomsoever I am a master, Ali is his master.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this moment Umar told Ali (\u2018a): Congratulations! O!Ali, you are now my master and the master of all the Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>It was now that Allah revealed the following verse:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rtl\"><p>\u0627\u0644\u064a\u0648\u0645 \u0623\u0643\u0645\u0644\u062a \u0644\u0643\u0645 \u062f\u064a\u0646\u0643\u0645<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em><strong>Today I have perfected your religion for you<\/strong><\/em><a id=\"fref_224f7f5c_34\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ithbat Al-Hudah, vol. 2, p.47, Bihar Al-Anwar, vol. 37, p. 108.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_224f7f5c_34\">34<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Khatib Khawarazmi and Sadr Al-Din Hamuee have quoted this narration (while mentioning all transmitters) from Baihaqi from Hakim Naishaburi who quoted it on the basis of his chain of transmitters from Ali Ibn Saeed\u2026.<a id=\"fref_2b4e9654_35\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Manaqeb Ali Bin Abi Talib (\u2018a), p. 79; Faraed Al-Samtain, p. 1\/77.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_2b4e9654_35\">35<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Likewise Ibn Maghazeli has reported the above &#8211; narration on the basis of his chain of reporters from Ali Ibn Saeed\u2026.<a id=\"fref_944b753a_36\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Ibid, p. 38.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_944b753a_36\">36<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Khatib Baghdadi has also narrated this narration from Abdullah Ibn Ali Ibn Muhammad Ibn Bushran from Dar Qatni from Abu Nasir Khalal from Ali Ibn Saeed \u2026.<a id=\"fref_04769214_37\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Tarikh Baghdad, vol. 8, p. 290.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_04769214_37\">37<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"ghadir-mosque-and-offering-prayer-it\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#ghadir-mosque-and-offering-prayer-it\" name=\"ghadir-mosque-and-offering-prayer-it\">Ghadir Mosque And Offering Prayer In It<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Based on their chain transmitters, Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Ya&#8217;qub Kulaini, Sheikh Abu Ja\u2019far Saduq and Sheikh Abu Ja\u2019far Tusi have quoted Hasan Jamal as saying:<\/p>\n<p>One day I was taking Imam al-Sadiq (\u2018a) from Mecca to Medina. This is because the Holy Prophet (S) designated Amir Al-Mu\u2019minin to governance in that place, and it is the place where Allah manifested the truth.<\/em><a id=\"fref_0160e89c_39\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Al-Kafi, vol.4, p. 567.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_0160e89c_39\">39<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"ghadir-day-festivity-day\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#ghadir-day-festivity-day\" name=\"ghadir-day-festivity-day\">Ghadir Day As Festivity Day<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Concerning Ghadir Day as celebration day, Sheikh Kulaini, Sheikh Saduq and Sheikh Tusi have, based on their own transmission, quoted Hasan Ibn Rashed as saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told Imam al-Sadiq (\u2018a): May I be your ransom, do the Muslims have any other eid day other than the eid days (of al-Qurban and Al-Fitr)?<\/p>\n<p>He said: Yes, O\u2019 Hasan! Fast on this day, send a lot of salutations (salawat) to the Prophet and his progeny and seek Allah\u2019s favour by showing disgust towards those who oppressed the Prophet and his progeny, since the Prophets (\u2018a) used to order their successors to celebrate on the days they appointed their successors and leaders.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said: What would be the reward for one who fasts on Ghadir Day? He said: He will be given the reward of fasting for sixty months.<\/p>\n<p>How can we not count, as a matter of fact, the day of perfection of religion and completion of blessings, as a celebration day?<\/p>\n<p>It was on this day that the companions of the Prophet \u2013 including Abu Bakr and Umar\u2013 congratulated Ali (\u2018a) after his designation by the Prophet (S) as the leader of the people, and a great number of the Sunnite scholars have quoted the story of the companions congratulating Ali (\u2018a). They include names such as Ahmad Ibn Hanbal in his Musnad, Tabari in his Tafsir, Khatib Baghdadi in his Tarikh, Ibn Hajar Makki in his Assawaeq al-Muhriqa, Muhib Al-Din Tabari in his ar- Riyad Al-Nadarah, Muttaqi Hindi in his Kanz Al-Ummal etc.\u201d<a id=\"fref_14d7ff71_40\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4, p.281, Tafsir Al-Tabari, vol. 3, p. 428, Tarikh Al- Baghdad, vol. 8, p.290, Assawaeq Al-Mahraqah, p. 26, Arriyad Al-Nadarah, vol. 2, p. 169, Kanz Al-Amal, vol. 6, p. 397.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_14d7ff71_40\">40<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his Al-Athar Al-Baqiah al-Biruni has considered Ghadir Day as a day Muslims considered as celebration day.<a id=\"fref_8fb1ba49_41\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Al-Athar Al-Baqiah, p. 334.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_8fb1ba49_41\">41<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his MaTalib Al-Su\u2019ol, Ibn Talha says that that day (Ghadir Day), became an eid day.<a id=\"fref_f7a3209b_42\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" MaTalib Al-Su'ol, p. 97.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_f7a3209b_42\">42<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In many places in his Wafiyat al-A\u2019ayan, Ibn Khallaqan Shafe&#8217;I, a supreme judge, has called Ghadir Day as an eid day.<a id=\"fref_d2cf9ec0_43\" class=\"see-footnote\" title=\" Wafiyat Al-A'ayan, vol. 1, p. 180 and vol. 5, p. 230.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#f_d2cf9ec0_43\">43<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I ask Allah, the Glorious to help us move in the right direction, strengthen our will to follow the straight path and help us do our divine obligations.<\/p>\n<p>May the divine peace be upon the Prophet and his pure progeny.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"footnotes\">\n<li id=\"f_2f202bab_1\" class=\"footnote\"><a class=\"footnote-label\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-islam.org\/ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt-sayyid-ali-al-husayni-al-milani\/part-2-ghadir-narrated-ahlul-bayt#fref_2f202bab_1\">1.<\/a>Qurb Al-Isnad, p.27.
