{"id":4651,"date":"2021-05-17T10:16:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T09:16:12","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-05-17T10:16:12","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T09:16:12","slug":"zakat-and-sadaqah-increase-wealth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shiastudies.com\/en\/4651\/zakat-and-sadaqah-increase-wealth\/","title":{"rendered":"Zakat and Sadaqah Increase Wealth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Zakat and Sadaqah Increase Wealth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Zakat and Sadaqah Increase Wealth: <\/strong>In the following Qur\u2019anic ayats Allah (S.w.T.) promises that anything spent in Allah (S.w.T.)\u2019s way will be amply rewarded both in this world and the hereafter,<br \/>\n\u201c\u2026and He causes Charitable deeds to prosper.\u201d (Surah al-Baqarah 2: 276)<br \/>\n\u201c\u2026and whatever thing you spend, He exceeds it in reward, and He is the best of Sustainers.\u201d (Surah Saba 34: 39)<br \/>\n\u201c\u2026and whatever you give in charity, desiring Allah\u2019s pleasure it is these (persons) that shall get manifold.\u201d (Surah ar-R\u016bm 30: 39)<br \/>\nPaying Zakat and spending it in the prescribed manner increases one\u2019s wealth. The stingy and the niggardly believe that they will be impoverished if they spend in Allah (S.w.T.)\u2019s ways, in direct contradiction to what Allah (S.w.T.) has promised in His holy Qur\u2019an and the traditions of Ahl ul-Bayt (a.s.), some of which are mentioned below.<br \/>\nIn the sermon of Fadak, Janabe Fatimah Zahra (S) says,<br \/>\n\u201cAllah has appointed faith for purifying you from polytheism and made prayer Wajib to cleanse you from pride and arrogance. Made Zakat obligatory to purify you from miserliness and parsimony. (so that man is imbued with the goodly quality of charitableness and is purified of the impurity of sinful deeds). And this is also the cause for increasing your sustenance.\u201d<br \/>\nIt is related from Hazrat Amir ul-Mu\u2019min\u012bn \u2018Ali (a.s.): \u201cOne who spends for a good cause is recompensed by Allah in this world and there is also an increase in his reward of the hereafter.\u201d (al-K\u0101fi)<br \/>\n\u2018Ali (a.s.) also said,<br \/>\n\u201cSeek the sustenance through Sadaqah\u201d (Wasa\u2019il ul-Shia Vol. 6 page 259)<br \/>\nIt is mentioned in the book Oddatud Dai that Imam Ja\u2019far as-Sadiq (a.s.) asked his son,<br \/>\n\u201cHow much amount is there for household expenses?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cForty Dinars,\u201d replied the son.<br \/>\nImam (a.s.) told him give in charity all the forty Dinars. The son said that there was nothing else apart from the forty Dinars. Imam (a.s.) said,<br \/>\n\u201cYou donate all of it in charity, the Almighty Allah will recompense it. Don\u2019t you know that there is a key to everything? And the key to sustenance is Sadaqah.\u201d His son Muhammad gave away the forty Dinars in charity, Ten days had hardly passed when Imam (a.s.) received four thousand Dinars. He told his son,<br \/>\n\u201cO Son! We had given forty Dinars and Allah gave us four thousand in return.\u201d<br \/>\nAmir ul-Mu\u2019min\u012bn \u2018Ali (a.s.) says in Nahjul Balagha that whenever poverty strikes, you must trade with Allah by giving Sadaqah.<br \/>\nImam Ri\u010fa (a.s.) asked his slave,<br \/>\n\u201cHave you given anything in the way of Allah today?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cNo!
