Following the passing of Ayatollah Shobeyri Zanjani, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued a message, stating:
“I extend my condolences for this grievous loss to our Master, may God hasten his noble reappearance, to the Islamic seminaries, and especially to his students and admirers, and most particularly to his noble household, a family that has nurtured scholars and men of learning. I ask the Almighty God to grant that great man ever higher spiritual ranks.”

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
The sorrowful news of the passing of the eminent teacher and distinguished jurist, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Shobeyri Zanjani, may God’s mercy and blessings be upon him, has reached me.
Throughout his noble life, apart from his first few years of childhood, this distinguished scholar devoted himself to learning, teaching, and research. He was consistently regarded by his peers, contemporaries, and teachers as a meticulous and profound researcher. His mastery of the various disciplines related to the derivation of Islamic legal rulings was accompanied by a keen attention to subtleties and fine points.
The lessons of that great scholar were known for their extensive research and meticulous examination, even when the number of attendees did not exceed a few people—and rightly so.
Praise be to God, over the course of a little more than the past three decades, many people had the opportunity to benefit, according to their own capacities, from his valuable presence and to draw upon his knowledge for their scholarly circles and teaching. His company was a place of both imparting and acquiring knowledge, even when he would walk home toward his noble residence after his lessons.
In addition to his unquestioned scholarly stature, his humble and fatherly manner toward students and scholars was also evident and served as an instructive example.
There is no doubt that the loss of this distinguished personality has left a void among the foremost Shi’a scholars and researchers of the present era, and it may take many years to fill it.
I extend my condolences for this grievous loss to our Master, may God hasten his noble reappearance, to the Islamic seminaries, and especially to his students and admirers, and most particularly to his noble household, a family that has nurtured scholars and men of learning. I beseech the Almighty God to grant that great man ever higher spiritual ranks.
