Speaking in a meeting with a number of Nepalese Sunni scholars who have traveled to Iran, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour underlined the need for proximity among Muslim schools of thought, without which there will be no new Islamic civilization.
He underlined that all Muslims are brothers, adding that scholarly dialogue is a prelude to the formation of the Ummah Wahidah (united Islamic community).
Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour further referred to the Western media’s attempts to tarnish the image of Islam in the world and said if Muslims remain committed to the teachings of the religion, the global arrogance cannot harm them.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric referred to ICRO’s activities, noting that the organization is tasked with carrying out Iran’s cultural activities in other countries and promote Islamic thought and teachings in the world in order to revive the Islamic civilization.
Developing the Quranic culture, teaching Quranic concepts and Quran interpretation, Quran contemplation, proximity of Islamic schools of thought, interfaith and cultural dialogue, and academic cooperation are among the organization’s activities abroad, he stated.
Some members of the Nepalese delegation also spoke this meeting, stressing the importance of unity in the Muslim world.
They also hailed the love for Islam among the Iranian people and called for development of cooperation with Iran.
