The Jamkaran Mosque hosted the gathering, which was addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hajabolqassem Doulabi.
In an address to the opening ceremony of the event, the cleric said one would not enjoy reading, reciting and memorizing the Quran until the Holy Book enters the depth of his heart and mingles with his existence.
He narrated a Hadith from Imam Sadiq (AS) who said that one who memorizes and carries the Quran is the flag-bearers of Islam, anyone who respects him has esteemed God and anyone who insults him will be damned.”
This Hadith lauds those who carry the Quran, the cleric said, adding, “Carrying the Quran, in its true sense, means carrying it with the heart. Until the Quran enters the depth of one’s heart and mixes with his existence, one would not enjoy reading, memorizing and reciting it.
“This great gathering and the Quranic programs of this congress are an indication of the love, enthusiasm and joy you have for the Quran and that means the Quran has mingled with your heart and you are carrying the Quran and flag-bearers of the Quran. Anyone who honors the flag-bearers of the Quran, has honored God.”
Hajabolqassem further said, “Your path is the path of giving guidance to people and this is the path of divine prophets. He referred to verse 2 of Surah Al-Jumu’ah, “It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error,” and said, “According to this verse, one of the missions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reciting the Quran to people and today you are playing this role.”
He also underlined that, according to Hadiths, a house in which the Quran is recited becomes full of light and Angels will be present there, and that house will shimmer for the people of the sky, just like the stars shimmer for the people on the Earth, while satans will go to houses where the Quran is not recited.
Hajabolqassem went on to say that there is a direct link between closeness of the people of the house to the Quran and their moving toward religious teachings.
