Quds, the axis of Muslims’ unity is the theme of this international conference that drew political figures and activists from across the world to Tehran to express their solidarity with Palestinians in their struggle against Israel’s occupation.
Israeli forces have repeatedly attacked Palestinian worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound site since early April, with the onset of the holy month of Ramadan which coincided with Jewish Passover.
Last week, more than 150 Palestinian worshipers were injured when Israeli forces stormed the compound in the occupied City of al-Quds.
The regime has pressed ahead with its violence in the flashpoint site and has been cracking down on solidarity protests throughout the occupied West Bank.
This conference is held ahead of the International Quds Day, a global pro Palestine rally that takes place every year on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan.
Activists here regard Quds day as an opportunity to shed light on the Israeli crimes in Palestine and hope that it would instigate the international community to take action in support of Palestinians.
Delegates here say Palestine remains the top priority and the innermost issue of the Muslim World, calling on Muslims worldwide to participate in the international Quds day en masse.
They say this is the only way to bring the Palestinian cause to light amid attempts by Tel Aviv to sweep its crimes under the rug.
