Quds Day Rallies Held in Indonesia
Rallies were held in various cities across Indonesia to mark International Quds Day.
One of the major rallies was held in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, in front of the US Embassy.
The event was organized by Shia communities and organizations in Indonesia and both Shia and Sunni Muslims had taken part in it.
International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
This year, the International Quds Day falls on Friday, April 29.
