Iranian People, Officials Take Part in Mass Rallies on Int’l Quds Day

People in Iran held rallies on Friday, the International Quds Day, to condemn the Zionist regime’s crimes and underline support for Palestinian resistance against Israel until he liberation of Al-Quds.

 

 

The demonstrations began at 10 AM in Tehran and 900 other cities and towns across the country.

Senior political and military officials, including President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri were also attending the rally in Tehran.

A resolution was adopted by the participants in the rally in which they described the International Quds Day as a key to unity in the Islamic Ummah in the face of the hegemonic powers’ plots.

They underlined the necessity to deepen and strengthen the anti-Zionist resistance.

They also called on regional and international bodies to adopt decisive and practical stances in support of the only solution to the issue of Palestine, namely the return of Palestinian refugees from all over the world to their land and holding a comprehensive and free referendum to decide the future of Palestine.

The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
