Japanese mother of Iranian martyr passes away
Saba Babai (Koniko Yamamura), the Japanese mother of Iranian martyr Mohammad Babai passed away on Friday.
Saba Babaei, née Koniko Yamamura, was hospitalized at Khatam al-Anbya Hospital.
She is the mother of Mohammad Babaei who was martyred during the Iraqi-imposed war in the 1980s.
Yamamura chose the name Saba after converting to Islam following her marriage to an Iranian Muslim in Japan.
She later moved to Iran where her 19-year-old son Mohammad was martyred during the Iraqi-imposed war.
Her memoirs have been compiled in “The Immigrant of the Land of Sun” by Hamid Hesam and Massoud Amirkhani.
